Carly, where do I begin?

Friends like you are so rare.

When I first walked into the university in London, I was terrified. I had just moved to a new country where I didn't know anybody and had never had a decent roommate, so when I saw your name (spelled wrong) on the door to our new temporary home, I was scared. I didn't know what to expect, I didn't think you'd be as terrified as I was, or that you would love chicken nuggets as much as I did. But, to my surprise, you loved chicken nuggets and were also terrified of this new adventure we were about to embark on.

I never imagined that studying abroad would bring me a friend like you.

I didn't think or believe that your best friend can be found in another country. I didn't believe that we would 'click' or become close. But look where we are now, weekly dinner dates, daily runs to Tesco for dr. pepper, and binge watching American Idol auditions from 2004. There is no place else I would rather be than in Parkview 23 Queens Rd. London, England. Throughout this short experience, you have taught me so much. You have taught me how to love someone who isn't myself, how to love myself (and why I should). You have shown me that singing Hannah Montana in the shower is okay because we are never going to see our floormates again as long as we live, so we might as well put on a full concert for them every night that we can.

You have brought joy back to my life.

You have helped me laugh my way back to genuine happiness. Never have I ever had a friend I can joke with as horribly as I can with you. I've never been able to tell someone that I want to throw them out of the window and mean it — so thank you for that. You show me every day what it looks like to have self-love, self-discipline, and self-appreciation. Every day I wake up I feel so thankful it's your snoring I wake up to. Every day you amaze me with your horrible jokes, terrible singing voice, and awful wardrobe choices. But I wouldn't want to be amazed in any other way.

Studying abroad brought me a roommate turned best friend turned travel companion and I couldn't be more thankful.

There is no other roommate out there that can live up to the expectations you've set. You're one of a kind and I hope that everyone finds someone like you to have in their life. Everyone is so worthy of finding a friend like you. Someone who can cry with you, wipe your tears, then tell you to get up and kick a$. Everyone deserves someone who is as genuine, honest, and spontaneous as you are. There is nobody else in this life who would be willing to day-drink on a Monday or go to bed at 7 p.m. on a Friday. You're the bee's knees, despite what I say when I'm hungry and I love you.

Thank you for being the best roommate and best friend I never knew that I needed.

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
