To The All-American Girl

You are not indecisive.

You know exactly who you are. You are the girl whose friends remind you daily that you can't make up your mind, that you're indecisive and can't be taken seriously, in a joking way of course. They do not mean anything negative, but they do not understand you.

I am here to tell you, they are wrong. You are not full of nonsense. You are not indecisive. Between goals, talents, careers, taste in boys, fashion, friends, and everyday life...you are the girl full of dreams. You want to do or try to do everything. You look at the glass half full and chase after anything.

You're an All-American Girl.... And a good one at that.

The All-American Girl does it all -- she has no boundaries. She has no need for the same routine every day. She loves everyone with her whole heart, she tries her best at everything she does, and she is fearless. She is not afraid of failure and most certainly is not afraid to be herself. She creates her own destiny. She wants to dye her hair blonde one minute and black the next, be an astronaut, a scuba-diver, a helpless romantic, a free-bird, somewhere in the hall of fame, and maybe even write a novel one day.

She wants to do it all. And although that may seem impossible, it sounds like fun to her. She goes wherever the wind takes her. The wind is not a light breeze, but comes full force. She doesn't hesitate to dare to move, but many people misunderstand her for that.

They think that she is showing off or can't decide what she wants to do in life. The truth is, she does what makes her happy in the moment. She does what makes her a better person or teaches her important life lessons that many people will never learn. Because she follows her heart, she finds herself in the midst of everything.

So credit to ya, All-American Girl. The world would be a boring place without you. We all need you in our life. We need your confidence to take chances. We need your intuition to follow your gut. We need your open-minded personality. People are so scared to try everything. It's like when you have fifteen tables set up in your favorite grocery store full of samples of food, but you only keep going to the same table.

Don't settle. Explore instead. Be your own version of an all-american girl. Try everything! The all-american girl has realized that some things won't work out for her, she may not like her choices, and she may decide to turn back for something else, but she doesn't go down without a fight. She gives everything a chance because the world is big and full of opportunity and so many adventures are waiting.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
