To The 22-Year-Old, Be At Peace

You will realize that all these trials were just a test of your faith and that until then, you'll keep holding on and be at peace.

You are so precious, even if the entire world says otherwise. You made it. You're 22 now. You don't have you life together, but I want you to know that joy comes in the morning. It might take a while before the rises, but it surely will.

You have not graduated from college yet, but honey, be at peace. You’re almost there. You did not get the scholarship you wanted, but be at peace because now you know the value of hard work. You know how to work and make ends meet. You have so many experiences, scars and disappointments, but you are still going . You have lost a lot of friends, but be at peace because you became independent. You struggle with pains from your past, but be at peace because what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

You had to drop a class last semester because you could not seem to get it all together. You just couldn't figure out the issue at hand, but be at peace because now you're getting an A in that same class.

You cried yourself to sleep because you could not decide on what the right part was, but be at peace because now you have it almost figured out. You cried everyday because you felt out of place and could not find the right group for you, but be at peace because people respect you so much.

People mocked you for being a Christian and felt that you could be better off without God, but look how far He has brought you. Be at peace because God brought you this far. Be at peace because God carried you out of dust, shame and disappointment. Then He placed your feet upon the rock, the rock that can never fail. Be at peace because you are stronger than you were last year. Be at peace because everything is still not fine, but you know that “You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you” (Phil 4:13).

You have such a beautiful future ahead of you. Always remember what Paul said in Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Therefore, because God has got you, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Keep persevering and push hard. Things are slow right now, but it will get better. In 10 years time, you are going to be looking back and by God’s grace, you will be touching lives and making a change in the world. You will realize that all these trials were just a test of your faith and that until then, you'll keep holding on and be at peace.

Sincerely,

You at 22.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
