Who knew sorority life could be this good?

A Thank You Letter To Alpha Xi Delta
Shay Decker

As an incoming freshman, you will always hear the question “Are you going to rush a sorority?”. Some girls know that sorority life is the life for them and other girls are unsure. For me, I knew I wanted to be in a sorority. I knew that being in a sorority would only add to my college experience.

When recruitment came around, I got myself ready for two long weeks. Going into recruitment I did not have a favorite, until the first day. After day one I was set, I wanted Alpha Xi Delta. During their rounds, I just could not find one thing I did not like. I loved the girls I talked to, their philanthropy, and what they were all about. I saw myself there and lucky for me that is where I am today. I am now an official sister of Alpha Xi Delta and I am so thankful.

To Alpha Xi Delta, thank you. Thank you for introducing me to lifelong friends. Already, I have made friends that I could not picture my life without. The type of friends that will make you laugh until you cannot breathe and will always be willing to get ice cream with you. But also, the type of friends who will let you rant out all your feelings and will always tell you it’s okay. Thank you for your teachings. I have learned so much about what it is to be a strong woman from the older sisters that came before me and the ones that are here now. Thank you for the chance to be involved. Being in a sorority gives you the opportunity to be involved in so many things. Along with being involved with our own philanthropy I am also involved in other on campus chapter’s philanthropies by going to their events. There are also leadership roles inside my chapter that I plan to take on in the coming years. Being involved teaches a person teamwork and leadership which are all amazing qualities to have. Thank you for the confidence. After joining Alpha Xi Delta, I became more confident in myself and what I do. I got this confidence from the girls around me and from within myself. Also, from knowing I have people who have my back. Thank you for the sisterhood. I now have so many new friends just because I wear three Greek letters. I have these friends because those letters mean something, something sacred to those who wear them. The sisterhood we share is not just about the little things. Sisterhood is being able to call anyone in your chapter when you need help. Whether the help be with school work, outfits, a job interview, or something more serious.

Thank you for the feeling of belonging. Once I joined Alpha Xi Delta, I felt a feeling of belonging. I feel this because everyone is so welcoming. Everyone is so kind and caring. Everyone belongs somewhere and I belong in Alpha Xi Delta.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

two women enjoying confetti

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.
