To My Sailor,

The way we met was not a normal way. For our first date, we watched my favorite movie, sat around, and got to know each other. From that day on, I continually fall in love with you more and more each day. You have seen me at my worst moments and helped me through them. You praised me through my best and I have done the same for you.

You pushed me to do better, go to classes, and do my homework even when I was not feeling up to it. We have been lucky enough to know each other more and more over the last few months; some may say we moved pretty quickly because we were not dating that long and were talking about marriage and getting engaged after a few months.

You spoil me like no other and tell me how I deserve it even though I know I do not! Before we go any further in our relationship I want to tell you a few things.

1. I am so proud of you.

First off, I want to tell you I am extremely proud of you. You have worked hard for everything you want and more. You aim for the sky and above and you never lower your expectations of me or yourself. You are chasing your dreams and doing big things in life.

2. I cannot wait until I can officially call you my husband.

As Whitney Houston said, “He’s all the man that I need.” I cannot wait until the day that we are officially married. When we have our first cute little apartment decorated perfectly by us both, and I get to wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy. No seriously, I get to wake up next to your handsome face every morning.

3. Thank you for serving this country.

I know plenty of people say thank you for your service to this country, but I want to say it for the millionth time. You are so appreciated. At the age of 18, you signed your name on a paper that basically gave your life to the Navy. It is not the same as just signing some agreement.

Signing that paper means that your life is not just your life anymore. You agreed to be yelled at, moved around, called underway at the drop of a dime, to deploy wherever they tell you to go for however long they tell you, and to live by morals set by an institution. You agreed to work hours on end and have duty days.

You got called away from your family and friends back home and instead of partying every weekend, getting so drunk that you are puking in a random trashcan or doing any drugs, you are serving for this country and defending us.

For all of this, you, or any military person honestly are so appreciated because you volunteered to do this. I have a never ending respect for you and everyone else that wears a military uniform.

4. Thank you for putting up with my attitude.

You have been there for me when I've had my worst days. I may or may not take it out on you. Either way, I thank you for sticking through it with me.

5. Thank you for always managing to let me know how you're doing.

Even if it takes hours for you to contact me you never fail to inform me how you are feeling or how you are doing.

6. Thank you for always taking pictures with me.

You always manage to keep me happy and do whatever I want even when that involves silly pictures with my selfie stick. Even dressing up in different outfits just so I can take pictures and have memories of it forever.

7. Thank you for dancing around with me to our favorite song.

Whenever our song comes on, we always manage to drop whatever we are doing and start dancing around and for that I thank you. You could be on the phone and stop having a conversation and dance with me. I love the attention you give me. I'm glad I took your two left feet and waltzed away with your heart.

8. Thank you for being my best friend.

Lastly, I want to thank you for being my best friend. You are more than just a boyfriend, or any of that. You are my partner in crime, my pillow that I lean on, my cheerleader that supports me and cheers me on, and my best friend that I tell everything to.

You are always there for me, and you give me advice on everything. You tell me what you honestly think and I am more than grateful for you.

You have been everything I need and more since we started dating. Wherever the road takes us, we will travel it together and I am glad to be traveling it with you. I cannot wait to look back on all the beautiful memories that we have created. Just remember to be happy and that I love you, handsome.

Love,

Your Babygirl

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
