To My Newly Wed Sister

To the one I've always looked up to.

To My Newly Wed Sister

I can’t believe you’re married. MARRIED. When did you get so old?! Kidding! You’re still young, don’t worry ;)

I’m incredibly proud of you. But I’m not proud of you for getting married. And before you take that the wrong way, let me explain.

I’m proud of you for being your own person first. I’m proud that you didn’t have to find someone to make you happy, but to add to your existing happiness. I’m proud that you took your time and waited through the crappy guys to find the right one.

So many people think that they need someone to make them happy, but that’s the wrong way to look at relationships. People should want to be with someone because they make them happier, not happy.

Growing up with you as my older sister, I’ve always aspired to be like you. To be as good in doing things as you, to be as confident as you, to be as happy as you. And when you married your husband, you made me want to someday find some who adds to my happiness as he does to yours.

My greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years, your love for each other will deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

As frustrating and annoying as it can be, being a girl is really awesome. We are beautiful inside and out. Not a lot of people may see that, but girls have a ton of amazing qualities.

We have unique flirting skills.

Us girls have a significant way to flirt with other people. Even when we say the most random or awkward things, we have a way of making everything sound cute and planned. It’s just a gift; we’re good like that.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
