To My Mother, Thank You For Everything.

I often come across these articles on my Facebook or Twitter. Many people writing letters to those who they appreciate. I think it is about time I wrote one too.

To my amazing, beautiful, mother, thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, especially for the past six years. Time and time again has brought us both on a journey that would not have been possible without you by my side.

I know you do not believe it, but you are everything that I want to be in a person as I continue to grow. You are unbelievably strong, hard-working, and have a heart open to every one around you. You have taught me so many things in the past few years that I will never forget.

We have carried each other through our bad days, and celebrated so many good ones. Every day I see you grow into someone who is more beautiful and caring. I know how hard it has been, but I want you to know how proud I am of you. You have shown me nothing but strength. Most of all you have taught me to be myself, and to never doubt myself.

You have been my number one supporter and my rock since the beginning of college. These years have been the hardest on the both of us, yet I have never felt more loved than I do now.

You have taught me countless times to be kind, and to value the things around me. You have taught me to fight for what I believe in and to put my all in to everything I do. Your moral support has been such an influence to the do the best that I can all the time.

I am beyond proud to be your daughter. I am proud of who we both have become, and who will continue to grow to be. You are my rock. I can not thank you enough for the years of happiness and adventure. We have so much left to accomplish.

I love you, mom, thank you for giving me the world. Thank you for showing me the beauty in the life we have.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
