I just don't thank her enough.

Thank You, Mom, For All The Things I Don't Thank You For Enough

I don't say this often enough, but thank you. From the day I was born, we had a connection unlike many mother-daughter pairings, and our relationship has been the most fulfilling thing in my life for a long time. While there are times that we get upset with each other, it's hard to stay that way for long - and soon enough, we're back to joking around like always.

Thank you for always being honest with me, even when I didn't want to hear it. Sooner or later, I always came around and realized that you were right. Thank you for pushing me to my limit, but not past it. Your constant encouragement pushed me to the point where I was challenged, but never burnt out. Thank you for offering grace and mercy for all of the many times that I have messed up. Thank you for never questioning my decisions, for trusting that I was following where God was leading me.

Thank you for letting me go to a school that I love, even though it means it is costing you a lot of money and stress. Thank you for telling me you love me every night, even if I get annoyed sometimes. Thank you for never being a helicopter parent. I appreciate the trust you have for me so much. Thank you for never hounding me about my schoolwork, even through I don't exactly need much hounding. Thank you for always pointing me to Jesus.

I love how I can be vulnerable around you. I feel like I can tell you anything. Thank you for picking up the phone (most of the time) and for always being willing to help me, especially when it comes to my education class. You've saved my life with that a couple of times. Thank you for never drilling me about boys, because I don't really like talking about it anyway. Thank you for coming to visit me. Most of all, thank you for loving me unconditionally when I've given you no reason to. I don't think there will ever be anyone else on earth who will love me like that. You are my best friend, my movie partner, and someone I can rely on at any moment of the day. I love you, and I am so thankful that I have someone like you as a mother.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
