Dear Michigan Commodity Classic Family:
Well it's that time of year again...yes Commodity Classic time! My favorite time of the year hands down! I can't even begin to explain to you all how sad I am that I won't be attending this year, but I want you to know it's okay because I probably won't miss it ever again.
Not only do I enjoy every minute of traveling around the country and learning about the latest and greatest technology in agriculture, but I also love seeing you guys. It's been about 8 years since we met. (Yes it's been that long, I can't believe it either.) And let's face it, we've been to some pretty cool places like Dallas, San Antonio, New Orleans, Kissimmee, Tampa, and many more. We've also done some pretty fun things like go to concerts, bowling, and explore the cities. We have made so many memories together and I can't wait to make more in the future.
But, the point of this letter wasn't to talk about the places we've been to or what we've done. It was to talk about how the Commodity Classic creates friendships that makes it hard to go a year without seeing each other. My family has been to "the mitten" and you all have visited "the good life" and we've learned about our daily lives when we're not on vacation and are just at home, I think that's pretty awesome.
Not only has your family been a complete joy in my family's lives, you also made me realize that you can come from different parts of this country and still have the same values and beliefs. (And let's not forget the same love for agriculture.)
So since I won't be attending this year and probably won't see you guys until January, I'll leave the four of you with this:
Jon: I've never met anyone who has as much in common with my dad as you do. Thanks for being his brother from another mother.
Melissa: You are so funny and your personality has the ability to light up any room. Don't ever stop being you.
Jake: You are like a brother to me and I love how you ask me for dating advice, even though I know you don't need it. You are one of the hardest working people I know and can accomplish whatever you put your mind too. Also, take care of core group meetings while I'm gone. (Inside joke).
Ryan: We may argue about whether or not LeBron is the greatest basketball player of all time (which he is) or which Big Ten University is better... Nebraska or Purdue (Nebraska is) but I got to admit you're a pretty cool dude.
With that being said, I will end this letter with a big I MISS YOU GUYS and can't wait to see you all again!
Sincerely,
Mirissa
