“Twenty years from now, I am gonna look back and remember that you were that one person who could turn every frown into a smile in a few simple words. That person who lifted my head when I was losing faith in myself. That one person who carried tears on her shoulders after every fight, every break up, every death. That one person who always knew what I was feeling by the look in my eyes. That one person who accepted who I was when everyone else laughed in my face. That one person that accepted every decision I made, believing that I made the right decisions. That one person who knew who I really was. That one person that made the biggest difference in my life…my best friend.”

Dear long distance best friend,

I am sorry for not always showing you how much I appreciate you. I am sorry for always ranting to you. I am sorry for being stubborn and cranky when you text or call me. I am sorry for not always having time to text or call you. I am sorry that I do not live closer. I am also sorry that we do not get to see each other. I am sorry for all of the times you needed to see me but I couldn’t come

Thank you. Thank you for still being my friend no matter the distance. Thank you for always answering my messages of distress. Thank you for, no matter how long it takes, either making me feel better or devising a plan so that I can be happier. Thank you for always giving me your honest option and advice. Thank you for not giving up on our friendship even though we live hours apart and can hardly see each other.

I miss you more than you know. I miss you when we text about silly things. I miss you when I am having a bad day and just need to see your face. I miss you when I am having a good day and you’re the first person I want to tell. I miss you when I’m bored and want to hang out with someone. I miss you when I am busy, and wish you were there experiencing life by my side.

I am proud of you. I am proud for all of the things you have accomplished and even though life has brought you somewhere further away from me, I am proud that you are there. I am your number one fan and I am sorry if I don’t show it enough. I am proud of every single thing you do and I look forward to the pictures you send me so that I can stay caught up in your life.

Most importantly, I love you. I love you for choosing to be my forever friend. I love you for never giving up on our friendship no matter the miles between us. I love you for always having my back. I love you for simply being you.

No matter the distance, no matter how many years it has been, I know I can always count on you.

Love forever and always,

Your long distance best friend

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
