Dear Sister,

I do not even know where to start. I guess I will start with I am sorry. I am sorry if you feel like that sometimes I do not care about the drama you have at school. It is not that I do not care about what you must say. It is that I do not care for high school drama. I am sorry for picking on you when we were growing up. But that was my job I am your big sister that is what I am supposed to do. I am sorry for always being the person who tells you the hard truth. I could not let you go to school looking weird or something and you will thank me later. I am sorry for all the fights. We are sisters we are supposed to fight. If we did not fight I would be concerned. I hope that you start to realize that I do know what I am talking about and that I am not just being mean. Next I would like to say thank you. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for always being a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for being my best friend. I could not even imagine for a better little sister. I may say things when I a mad that I do not mean but I love you. I really do. I love you with all my heart and I hope you know that. We fight a lot. More than a normal sister relationship. But we could be fighting one minute and then laughing the next. You are an amazing sister and I am so grateful I have you in my life. It absolutely is hard being away at school but I think that we sometimes need a break from each other. I think that we do better when we are not with each other every single day. I miss you like crazy. And I absolutely cannot wait s=for spring break! I love you with all my heart!

Love,

Your Big Sister

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
