To My Inspirational Best Friend

There are moments, people, and places that captivate you and inspire you to be a better person. They make you realize the little things in life, and how life is too short. Life is too short to argue or fight, to count your blessings, and love the family and friends that are continuously there for you.

I consider myself lucky, my best friend inspires me to be a better person. She makes me realize what actually matters in my life. Not only is she a role model, but she is also one of the best and most genuine people I have ever had the privilege and pleasure of becoming friends with.

From the moment we met working at a baseball stadium when we were young teenagers in high school, we instantly became sisters. I had no idea that you would impact my life in such a paramount way. We both have endured detrimental times in our life, that we both didn’t know we could get through, but through it all, the hardships, the struggles, you have remained my rock, my sister. You’re someone I will always look to for comfort, and you are always there for me when I need you.
Because of you, I laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a lot more. Seeing how strong you are and how much of an influential friend you are changed my life. Because of this, I know that we’re going to be friends for life. Keep on being you, because I love who you are and what you’ve become. You’re truly an inspiration, and I’m so blessed to have you as my best friend.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
