I am missing you all so much right now

To my best friends from home,

I want to let you all know that I am thankful for you. I know I have said that before, but I really am. In hard times while I am away at school, I always know I have you all by my side. I know that if I am missing you, you're only a group chat text away. I can Snapchat any one of you to see you, even if it is for only 10 seconds, but with the stress of school piling up, I realize you aren't here to help me keep my head up. I miss you gals.

I love the friends that I have made here at school. Believe me, they are great, but no one can ever replace you because you are all my day one supporters. I miss seeing you whenever I could. I miss going to Applebee's or Dunkin' or having squad meet ups. Those are the things that make me the most homesick. It is hard when I am at school and I see you ladies hanging out. It makes me upset that I am missing out, but I am so happy that you all have one another back at home.

I miss being there to hear about the good and bad that is going on. I love being updated. I know I can read about it in a chat, but I miss getting together and talking in our group. We are a big group, all 8 of us, and when we can actually get everyone together, it is always so much fun.

I am looking forward to our annual Squadmas because I can't wait to see all of your beautiful faces and eat good food. Nothing says BFFS like Secret Santa, but I am making it a point to see you many more times before that. I am in need of your hugs and love. That is sappy, I know, but it is true.

You are all my best friends. You have seen me grow. You have seen me at my worst. You have seen me at my best. You have even seen me get my tattoos. I want you all to know that I love and support every single one of you with my whole heart.

Don't forget to text me or call me when you need to or want to. You know that I am always open to hear about your day or what is going on. I cannot wait to see you all soon.

Stay beautiful, you amazing people. 8/8 of Squad for life.

Love,

Your forever friend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
