I can’t believe you did it.

To My Not-So-Little Brother As He Graduates High School, The Best Has Yet To Come

To my (not so little anymore) brother,

I can’t believe you finally graduated! It seems like just yesterday you were smaller and definitely shorter than me and it’s hard to believe that the day of your high school graduation is here. It’s been a long time coming and I’m so proud of you for finally making it across that stage. When we were little I thought about the day that we wouldn’t live across the hall or even ten minutes from one another and I can’t believe the day is finally here that will see us living in different cities.

You’ve been my built-in best friend since I was three and I’m really happy mom and dad decided to have another kid, life would have been really boring without you in it although you were REALLY annoying sometimes. I’ll never forget the time that we were driving all the way from Florida to Colorado in dads jeep. You kept putting your hand on my side of the car and I was getting so mad at you. I also taught you so whistle and the second you got it down you. Wouldn’t. Stop. Whistling.

I wouldn’t change most of the memories we’ve had together and I’ve been so happy to have you on all the vacations and trips to the beach and even on that road trip where all you did was whistle and annoy me. I’m thankful for all the joy you’ve brought to our family. Your sense of humor has kept us laughing for 18 years and I’m so thankful for that.

If I had any advice for you next year as you move into tour freshman year, I would say to stay true to yourself. You’re a great, funny, sweet and genuine guy and I don’t want you to lost that when you move out! I also would tell you to get involved in as much stuff as possible next year at Alabama. The more things you’re involved in, the more likely you are to make friends and find things you truly enjoy!

Even though you’re going to be a little bit (a lot) further than we are all used to, you better come home and you better not forget about us. I know mom is going to make you come home a certain amount of times but you better stay in contact with me, I’ll come fight you if you don’t.

I know you don’t say it often but I do and I’ll say it again I love you Caleb and I’m really thankful you’re my brother. You’re absolutely going to crush your first year of college and I’m so excited to see you thrive on your own! Again, keep in touch or you’re going down. (But I still love you)

Love your always big sister

P.S. even though you’re taller than me, I’m still older so don’t forget that just because you don’t live in Tally anymore.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
