To My Future Roommates

Come August, us four will be together, 24/7, more than we already were. Crazy right? Hoping for the best year yet with you three lovely ladies!

Freshman year, I only had one roommate, a friend from home. In just a short month, I'll have three other roommates, some of my best friends. My life is about to get a whole new change. A change I am so excited about.

Starting off college in an apartment was a full-wind of excitement, and moving into another with three of the best people I know will be amazing. We all have had our ups and downs with roommates in the past, but that doesn't mean the same will happen for us.

From the beginning, when we first decided to all four live together, it was like a breeze. Each and every one of us is so easy going, that deciding who will bring what, or pay for this, or really anything at all, was a simple process.

However, we still have a lot to decide about. Whether or not we are sharing food, how we are going to pitch in for items we all use, electricity, having guests over...I mean, it can be a lot. With that being said, I know that whatever struggles we may have while living together, the good memories will outweigh the bad.

Just designing the theme for the apartment to the movie and dinner nights we are going to have, I already know living with you three is going to be the best experience yet.

I want you to know that I will always be here if you need me. Aka picking you guys up from a bar late at night, bringing home comfort food if you have a bad day, treating your parents like they are my own (because let's face it, that will happen soon enough), or sitting in the living room piled up with blankets watching a scary movie (Brie, I already know you're gonna make me do this...). We are going to have a great time.

Soon enough, the year will pass by, basically meaning that two of you will be graduating (seriously, please like don't leave me). That just means the memories will be so much better!

I guess this article is just to say how excited I am to be back with you three in the fall. You each have a radiating personality that makes the room light up with fun and laughter! T-minus 17 days until move in (from the day I am writing this article), see y'all soon!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
