I've always wanted to write one of these letters, so now I feel is an appropriate time. Although I am nowhere near having children at the moment, I would like to put my words out there so when the day eventually comes, I won't forget these points. I want my children to know all that is in store for them, and the unconditional love and support that they have coming their way.

To my future children,

As your mom, I'm going to be there for you whenever you need me. I'm going to be strong when times are tough, the one to tell you that there is a light at the end of a dark tunnel and that whenever you need someone to talk to, I'll be there for you. I'll be there to listen to all the struggles and drama that comes along with being a child and then into your teenage years. Even when you become an adult and I grow old, I'll still be there to the best of my ability to listen to all that you have to say. As well, I'll always tell you the truth keeping your best interest in mind. I only want the best things and/or events to happen in life for you, so of course what will benefit you the most, will always come first.

Sometimes in life we face struggles- that is part of the whole process. There are ups, downs, and inbetweens. You're going to realize that the world isn't perfect, but there are in fact good people out there that will support you and provide you with an extra-strength backbone. I'll be one of those people. If you need me to be a support system, you've got it. If you need to know what to say, and when to say it, I'll tell you how it is and how to approach any situation that life throws at you. You'll get annoyed at times, thinking "why is mom always looking over my shoulder?", but one day, hopefully, you'll thank me for having wisdom and coming to good conclusions.

I'll be there for you not only in your weakest moments, but also your strongest ones. I will be the parent at your recitals and/or sports games with a giant foam finger and a huge grin stretching across my face. I will be your cheerleader and one of your biggest fans. I want you to know that you will always have a friend in me. Even when it comes time for you to make friends and even meet people that you may end up in relationships with, I'll still be there. I want you to know that I will always support your decisions that you make in regards to who you decide to come in contact with. And, if I don't think that it is a good idea, I will be the first person to let you know what is on my mind.

Most importantly, when you need someone to love you, know that that shouldn't even be a question in your mind. I will love you with all of my heart, unconditionally. There will be no one that I love more than you. You will have my whole heart. We will have many laughs, cries and moments of joy together. We will have our obstacles, but at the end of the day, we will be united as family. And family comes over everything in my mind.

Love,

Mom

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
