To My Future Boyfriend,

I would like to start by saying hi, it's nice to finally meet you. Also, where the heck have you been? I swear, I was starting to get worried about you. But I am very glad that you're finally here.

I've had my fair share of poor experiences when it comes to relationships. I've been ghosted more times than I would like to admit, but I think that says more about the guys I've talked to than it says about me as a person. I do have some scars from past relationships, and I'm sorry that my past may cause some problems for you, but I hope it'll all be worth it.

There's a lot I want you to know about me, and I really hope that you are willing to take the time to listen and learn these things. But I guess, if you're not willing to learn those things, you aren't the person who this letter is dedicated to.

I want to start off by saying that if you have a hard time getting me to open up, don't give up. Please, I'm counting on you to prove me wrong. I don't open up right away, because I do indeed have trust issues, but at the same time, I'm also an incredibly open person. Just ask the right questions and be genuinely interested in getting to know me, and I promise you, you won't regret it.

I will make every minute of this relationship worth it. I am loyal and I am loving. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know people and learning what makes them tick. So, I will get to know every last bit of you (whether you like it or not), but I hope that you appreciate my effort. I will get to know what you love, what you hate, what you live every day for, and I will do my best to help you grow.

I am not a crazy girlfriend. All I need is a little bit of time, some love and an honest relationship. You can go out with your friends, I don't need to be with you every waking minute. You can adventure all on your own, but I would love to join you when you'll have me. I promise to never hold you back, because I don't want you to do that to me. I want us to grow and live together not keep each other from living our beautiful lives.

I don't need you. I am independent and I am strong. I by no means need you in my life, but I want you there. Just know that I can accomplish anything on my own. My life is beautiful and I am happy all on my own; you are just an incredible being that I have the privilege of sharing my life with. Now, don't let that discourage you, because although I don't need you, I want you.

I want as much of you as you are willing to give; I want to know your fears, weaknesses, loves, and dreams. But instead, I wait.

Unfortunately, I don't think we've even met yet, but I can't wait to get to know you. I can't wait to grow and experience the world with you. I already know I'm lucky to have you, and I hope you feel the same way about me.

But until then, I'm just working on me. I want to improve myself in all the ways that I can. I will be here making myself the best I can be. I will be here being the happiest that I can be, not waiting for you, but rather ready for you whenever you get here.

I hope to see you soon,

Love, Your Future Girlfriend.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
