If you've ever had a dog, then you know how much happiness and love they bring to your life. Anyone that knows me, knows that my dogs are one of the most important things in the world to me, so, here's a letter to my first dog, Kizzi.
Kizzi,
I can't believe it's been two years since you've left us. Two years since I've seen your cute, squishy face. Two years since I've heard you bark. Two years since you've slept in my bed with me. Two years since I've got to pet and hold you.
Even though your last few months were hard, the good months really outweigh the bad. I remember how you'd always catch your treats when we'd throw them in the air. I remember that one time you randomly jumped off the porch, ran full speed to the front yard, ran around in a circle, then came back to the porch like nothing happened. I remember when Krislyn was going to "kidnap" you by putting you in a pillowcase and carrying you around. I remember how you'd always sleep on your back like a person. I remember how you'd always grunt, no matter what you were doing. I remember how much you loved to get your belly scratched.
Not only did you give me so many memories, you also taught me so many things. You taught me how to forgive; you chewed up so many things, but I had to learn to forgive you. You taught me how to laugh and to have fun. You taught me how to love wholeheartedly. You taught me how to take care of someone other than myself.
You were one of the best things to ever happen to me. I'll never forget the day they brought you home. I was so excited to welcome you into our family and our home. I hope the 11 years you spent with use were as amazing for you as they were for my family and me. You taught us all so much and left us so many memories. Even though I wish we could've gotten more time together, I'll always cherish and never forget the time we did share. I hope you're eating all the treats and playing with all the toys up there in doggy Heaven.
I'll love you forever,
Your Mom
