To My Fast Food Crew
A. Fetting

Working in fast food you become close to those you work with, and now that I am leaving I want to say good-bye. It has been a great two years and now it is time to say good-bye to my now summer job. Even though I know I will be back next summer it is so hard to leave now, and not because I enjoy the mean customers because the people I have gotten so close with I now have to leave.

Thank you to all of the crew members, you have all helped me at some point or another. You have all made me laugh a time or two as well. I can't believe that this summer is almost over. I have learned how to be kind even when others are not and you have all helped me with that, I am going to miss all of you so much. I hope to see most of you next summer though, because then we can have new memories and laughs.

Thank you to the managers, without you guys I wouldn't have known a McDouble from a Double Cheeseburger. (Yes, there is a difference). I have learned a lot from you guys too, how to read the schedule, what needs to be stocked and how much stock it should have, when we get busy and how many fries or hashbrowns should be dropped depending on the time of day.

Thank you to the regulars, I have always enjoyed your smiling faces in the mornings and I am sad that I have to leave those. I love knowing what coffee you are going to get when I see you get out of the car. You are the simple customers that I honestly would go crazy without.

Thank you to all the customers, even the grouchy ones. You have all helped me grow more confident in myself.

Thank you everyone in my "Crew" even if you aren't a Crew Member,

Ashton, Ashley, Ashlyn or whatever else you have all managed to call me these last two years.

But incase you were wondering its Ashton.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
