Hey guys,
I know we have barely talked since graduation two years ago, but I still think about you a lot. I remember all the laughs and the tears and the craziness. Our lives have gotten busy, and we have all gone our separate ways, but I just want you to know how incredibly glad I am to have had you during the toughest years of my life. High school was certainly not easy, and we all had our issues, but you made even the darkest times bright, and I will always be grateful for that.
As we are choosing our paths into adulthood, I'm excited to see the people you will turn into and I am so proud of the women you have become. You all have your own special talents that I am happy to see you are still exercising today. It's awesome to see the places you travel, the friends you have made and how extremely happy you look.
I know life doesn't always turn out the way you expect it to. But you guys are so strong, I know you are going to overcome every challenge that life throws at you and come out even stronger on the other side. I want you to always keep your sassy, fighting spirits and don't let anyone take it away from you. Sass is probably one of a woman's most important tool in this world, along with her wits, which you aren't lacking either.
I hope you guys keep chasing after your dreams. A writer, an artist, an ASL interpreter, or a bilingual tropical princess (you all know who you are), just go for it. You'll be successful at what you truly love to do, and I can't wait to see where you go with your goals. Even though I may not be there with you, I will always be cheering you on in the background.
Time will pass, and things will continue to change. But we all came from the same place and we all walked the same halls. Sometimes, it's hard for me to think about high school for many different reasons. Heartbreaks, disappointments, hurt feelings, etc. But, then, I remember the times when I was happy. Hysterical laughter in physics class, braiding hair in the theater, dancing in the drama room, performing on stage, the list goes on and on. And in every single one of those happy memories of high school that I have, one of you was present making that memory with me. And even though we don't talk much anymore because I know how busy we all are trying to put our lives together, just always remember:
I haven't forgotten you, I never will.
If you ever need someone to talk to, I will always be here.
You are awesome, no matter what.
High school isn't forever, but the amount of embarrassing pictures we have of each other pretty much is forever.
Your friend,
Cayla
