To My College People

"We don't meet people by accident, they are meant to cross our paths for a reason."

To My College People

Dear some of my favorite human beings on earth,

Not for one second did I think I'd be addressing a letter like this to people as amazing as you guys. I never thought I'd come to college and meet people so awesome and so similar to me. If I'm being honest, ii's a little difficult to put my thoughts into words about how I truly feel for you all. I've learned to love you guys for who you are individually; my connection with you guys has become so strong that there are no words in the english dictionary that could precisely explain just how much I care for you.

With that being said, I'm just going to begin by thanking you. I've always been the type of person that put effort into friendships I knew would last me a long time; I truthfully didn't think I'd find friendships like that so quickly. Thank you all for being yourselves, first of all. You all teach me so much every single day, and I don't think you even realize it. One thing you all seem to have in common though is that you all teach me how to be a better version of myself. You all always remind me how important it is to smile and remember my worth. Without you guys I know I wouldn't be where I am today.

Thank you for always looking at the brighter side. I know life can get us down sometimes, and that college is so stressful, but you all act as if the world couldn't be more perfect, and you are the happiest you could ever be in your life. The best part about you guys? You always look forward to what tomorrow brings.

There is nobody in this world I would rather tackle college with than you guys. I am so unbelievably blessed to have met you all when I did. You make waking up every morning in a stuffy room on a tiny and not very comfortable bed all the more exciting. You make every single day a new adventure and I love that about you guys.

Thank you for all being almost as obnoxious as me, teaching me how to rally like a champ, eating Droogies with me until our sweat basically turns into milkshakes, reminding me that not every guy is gonna be my Magic Mike, watching One Tree Hill with me until our eyes glaze over, laughing so hard and so loud that the guys on the floor below you have to bang on the ceiling, but for also being able to have a genuine heart to heart when one is due.

These next four years are going to be interesting, to say the least, but I wouldn't want to have anyone else by my side. I can't wait to be trapped in a room with you all next year, and I obviously can't wait to take on Florida with you wonderful people. The memories we've made, and the memories that have yet to come, are ones that I will carry with me forever. You guys have become like family to me in such a short period of time, and you will never truly understand just how much you mean to me.

So, I'm just going to leave it at this... I love you guys. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
