To My College Graduate

My college graduate, Congratulations! There are not many words that would be able to express how proud I am of you. I was able to first hand see your college experience. What a privilege that was to witness. I was able to see the passion you have for your self, and for the degree you were pursuing. I stood by you for long nights of studying. Watched you spend hours with your face glued to a computer, to find that last little bit of research. Made you cookies when school stressed you out. Listened to the conversations of you wanted to be down, and wished it was all over. Say how your face would light up, when your final grades were posted, and you received mostly A's. Spoke with your professors about how great you are, as a person and a student. Finally, I was also there when you walked crossed the stage, and received your diploma. Ive seen everything you have done, and yet you still amaze me. Everything you worked so hard to achieve has finally paid off. Your dedication to your education was outstanding. Your knowledge has progressed much farther than anyone could have imaged, even if you jokingly say you have learned nothing.

Watching you walk through college and then walk crossed the stage was truly a blessing to witness, and something that was so well deserved. With no of all the hard work behind you, it is time to celebrate your achievement, lasting far beyond the graduation ceremony and part. It is time to celebrate you. Being with friends and family, including them into the celebration. made everything feel even more special. Enjoy this moment of celebration, before stepping out into the real world. Have a few more drink in your honor, before the night ends. Spend a little bit more time as a collage student, before becoming a real adult. You deserve so much and should be so proud of your self.

Now that this chapter in your life has closed, I want to remember a few thing. First know that I will always be their, watching you succeed and achieve anything you set your mind to. Know that I will always was be proud of you, and I will always love you. Know that and worker force, company, school, employer will be so lucky to have someone like you joining their team. You are destined to do so many amazing things within your life. Never settle, never stop pursuing your dreams and utilize the potential within you. And once again, I am so proud of you and congratulations Babe.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
