To My Boyfriend: I Love You
Kayla Ellis

To my very favorite person, my best friend, my boyfriend:

You have shown me so many things about myself that I never knew, you have helped me find myself in the best way possible. You bring out the best in me, and for that I will forever be thankful. I can not even begin to tell you how how appreciative I am of the things you have done and continue to do for me, or the way you treat me, and the way you make me feel. You have truly changed my life for the better. I know I have said it a million times over, but I am thankful for everything you have done for me since you have come into my life; all the big things, all the small ones, and everything in between. You are truly a blessing. Although I can not even begin to cover half of the things that I am thankful for, here are some of my favorites:

Thank you for pretending to like all my favorite shows.

And for not making fun of me when the tears stream down my face the 50th time I watch that one "Grey's Anatomy" episode. I know some of those shows are not very exciting to you, but you are always a trooper.

Thank you for laughing uncontrollably with me at things that wouldn't be funny to anyone else.

Some of my best memories with you so far are those memories I have of us laying on my bed laughing until we cry about the most random, simplistic things. Your laugh will forever bring happiness to my heart.

Thank you for pushing to in my studies.

You are always making sure that I am studying hard and all caught up on my homework...even if it means quizzing me on med terms that you can't seem to pronounce.

Thank you for loving me when I can't find the strength to love myself.

You always have kind words for me when I am struggling and your love has never failed to pick me up when I am down on myself.

Thank you for scarfing down a whole bowl (or two) of popcorn with me late at night when I can't sleep.

I know sometimes the only thing you may want to do is go to sleep, but you have never passed up a popcorn date and for that I am so thankful. Some of my favorite time with you has been spent eating popcorn and laughing until our bellies hurt.

Thank you for the belly kisses when I have a stomach ache.

I know it sounds crazy but I will swear up and down forever that your little belly kisses cure my stomach aches over and over again.

Thank you for never judging me and always showing me off.

We all have those days where we don't have the time or energy to put effort into our appearance, and you are never one to judge. Your kind words are still present and you are still quick to hold my hand and walk me around campus like I'm the queen of the place.

Thank you for spending time with my family.

I know spending a whole weekend on vacation with a family that is not your own is not easy, but I love every minute of having you with me. Knowing that you are able to get along with my family is one of the best feelings.

Thank you for welcoming me into your family.

I can not thank you enough for introducing me to your family. You have showed me time and time again that there will always be a place for me there and that is so precious to me.

Thank you for letting me be a diva sometimes.

Even though I hate to admit it, I love to be spoiled. You are so good at making sure that I feel like a queen at all times of the day and I am so thankful for that feeling.

Thank you for letting me love you.

My happiness comes purely from the thought of making you happy. I love to love you and I am so thankful for the opportunity.

Thank you for the smiles, the tears, the laughs, the frowns, and everything in between.

I love you and will forever be thankful for all of these things and more. I am so thankful for the love that you give to me and the love that I am able to give to you!

cousins

I've known you your entire life. More than likely I held you in the first three days of it and at least one of us cried. Cousins are truly one of the best things in the world and while sometimes I complain about how many people crowd Grandma's living room on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't trade you all anything.

You are my best friends, the only people who can understand what it's like on Thanksgiving, and you are the spunkiest people I have ever met. But you as so so young, most of you are just now starting your adventures in the public education system. I mean, I'm so very young too. I'm not married, I don't have children, heck, I just started my adult life, but I do want to give you what little advice I have. My dears, these are the things I want you to know.

You are a senior in high school, you have made it to the final year that you have been looking forward to since the first day of freshman year. Whether this has been the worst or best four years of your life, appreciate it. You will never have these times back, you will never be in high school again. It is hard for someone still in high school to wrap their brain around, but there will be a day when you wish you could be in the shoes you're in right now. Here are 15 things I have learned being in college that I wish I knew as a high school senior:

Everyone, and I mean everyone has heard of the show "One Tree Hill". Many people think that this show is the best thing they've ever watched and others won't bother watching it because they know they'll get hooked. And yes, I know many people have written about this show before, but I couldn't resist. I could re-watch every season multiple times to the point where I can almost quote an entire scene. Trust me, once you start "One Tree Hill", you will be hooked. There's way too many reasons to list as to why you'll love this show, and these are just a few.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.
