Being in the audience of every performance, chaperone on every field trip and cheering me up when I'm down, my mom has been there for me through it all. She's one of the greatest women I know and I'm so blessed to call her my mom. Today, on an ordinary day of the year, I would like to praise my extraordinary mom for giving me the most incredible childhood and for making every day better than the one before.
Mom,
You have been my biggest fan since the moment I took my first breath. From my first steps and words to getting into the college of my choice, your support has never ceased. You've cheered me on and reprimanded me when necessary. You challenged me to be the best person, student, worker, and daughter that I could be. I don't know what I would do without you. Your unconditional love is like nothing I've ever known. No matter what wrong I do, you still love me through it all. Even when I constantly ignore your advice, get upset with your honest opinions or do something you told me not to do, you're still there to hold my hand and wipe my tears at the end of the day. Your strength inspires me every day. I don't tell you enough how much I love and appreciate you. You mean the world and more to me. I know that I can always come to you with anything. Although I hate to admit it... You're pretty much always right.Even when you prove me wrong, you don't make me feel like a complete idiot.
My childhood wouldn't have been so amazing if it weren't for you. You were always there for every important moment in my life. From school masses to field trips and class parties, you were always there. Every birthday party was perfectly planned out and always ran smoothly. Back then, I couldn't see how hard you worked. Every little thing that "fell into place" in my eyes, was meticulously planned out by you. I know now how much you sacrificed so that I could have a great life. You praised me for good grades and gave me endless life lessons, and still do. You always talked to me with love and kindness. Even now, you always speak to me with love and respect.
There are so many things to thank you for. I could write a novel on the amazing woman that you are. Thank you for putting me first- going to mother-daughter events (even during Saints games!!!), attending country concerts with me (your least favorite genre) and picking me up at a bus stop (again, during a home* Saints game). In summary, thank you for being my teacher, my counselor, my best friend and most importantly, my biggest fan. Your hard work has paid off and continues to do so. I know that I wouldn't be the woman I am today if I didn't have you.
I hope that someday I am at least half the mother that you are.
Love always,
Your eternally grateful daughter.
