So proud, so nostalgic.

Thank you.

Dear Big,

I can’t believe that the time has come for you to graduate and leave our beloved college town that has become our home. I know that you are ready to tackle whatever comes your way. You’re going to change the world in some way, just like you changed my life. Even though I keep crying because I don’t want you to leave, I promise I am beyond proud of and excited for you.

I’ll miss the plans we made to workout that ended with us eating Canes. Cooking dinner at each others’ places and watching movies will occur less frequently. No longer will you call me up to go shopping on the spur of the moment, and we won’t be carpooling to events or sitting by each other at meeting every week.

BUT, we’ve been preparing for this. As our friendship grew, we realized that we could handle whatever physical distances came between us. You’ve been such a blessing, and I hope I can be half as great of a big as you are to me. I’ll still snap you my outfit choices and run to you about boys. We’ll FaceTime our frustrations and call with happy news, whether you get a promotion or I ace a test.

Thank you for being someone that I can run to at any time. Thank you for listening to me talk about the same thing forty different times and never getting mad. Thanks for coffee dates and unexpected pick-me-ups. Thanks for the road trips (these may become more frequent when we live in different cities). Thanks for loving every mediocre craft that I make you and for sharing my appreciation of class. You are such a role model and I can’t thank you enough for that. Thank you for always cheering me on to successes and picking me up when I fall. Thank you for being my family.

As much as I hate that you’re leaving our college home, I can’t wait to see the adventures that you take. You give me a reason to travel more now, and my house is always open to you. I wouldn’t be who I am today without the love and impact that you have shown me. You’re going to do great works.

Love always,

Your Little

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
