To My Best Friend's Parents

To my best friend's parents,

This thank you is quite overdue and should of been said years and years ago. Having your daughter in my life has been such a blessing. Her and I are just like sisters and you two are my second set of parents that I can go to if I don't want to go to my actual parents. I know I can always count on you two on anything whether it be a place to crash or keeping a secret. I couldn't imagine my life without your daughter. I am very grateful for everything you have done for me.

Thank you for opening your house with open arms. Throughout high school and the time I am home from college, I am at your house fifty percent of the time. I appreciate the food you have in your house when I am home as well. Thank you for paying for my dinner when I had my own cash and debit card on me in my wallet. I laugh every time I hear that you ask how I am and where I am at when I haven't been over in three days.

Thank your for inviting me to family vacations, holidays, birthdays, and even just simple Saturday night cookouts. I know all of your family like they are my own and get excited when I am able to see them. I know I always have a pool to lounge in during the hot summer days. Thank you for treating me like one of your own. You are not afraid to speak your mind and I would like to believe that I am like that. I am not afraid to say something and do not care what others think of me. Thank you for checking up on me from time to time and asking how school and overall life is. There are thousands of things that I can't put into five hundred words.

To my best friend, thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. I love your parents and family and am so happy that I have been able to share the memories that I have with them. I couldn't imagine my life without you being my there when I am down or need someone to get Panera with.

I'll see you all again soon.

Love,

Your second daughter that you got stuck with.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
