To My Best (Guy) Friend

Thanks for being my forever friend.

To My Best (Guy) Friend

Since the very first weeks of Freshman year to now, you have always been such an important piece of my life. I honestly could not have imagined high school without you, because through the most stressful or the most joyous of times you were by my side.

I have so many things to thank you for and so many things that I have gained in my life because of this friendship. I'll try my best to cover all the bases, but considering we have four years of memories, that's gonna be tough, so just bear with me.

You are truly one of the most candid people I know. You're never afraid of being politically incorrect, crossing any lines, or offending anyone and I've always admired that so much. You tell me how it is and always have. You never fail to put me in my place when I'm stressing out for no reason, being too bossy, or telling a joke that just isn't funny. I've never had to guess where I stand with you because you never play games. It's so refreshing to be friends with someone who is always 100% transparent, and I'm so grateful to you for that. Along with being totally honest, you also care so much about others it blows me away. You're always willing to offer rides to people, be their shoulder to cry on, and do anything you can to help make their days better. You are constantly acting with complete selflessness, without even having to think about it, because being a good guy just comes naturally to you. Thank you for waking up in the middle of the night when I need to talk, for snap chatting me all the goofy Buzzfeed articles that you do, and for continually checking in on me to make sure I'm doing alright.

I'm so excited to see how our lives turn out, and I have no doubt that we'll go through it all together. I can't wait until I'm a groomsman in your wedding (because by the time you get married I'm sure the world will be that progressive), and for your kids to call me "Auntie". I'm patiently waiting for that day that you find your soulmate so that I can interrogate her to decide if she's good enough and let you know if I approve as we go for our famous drives around town.

Forever friends are so hard to come by, but I know for sure that you are one of mine.

So thank you, for being like a brother to me, watching out for me and always listening. Thanks for commenting absurd things on my social media, having the funniest sounding horn on your car, and for making everyone's life so much better.

Never change.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
