"Making a million friends is not a miracle, the miracle is to make a friend who will stand by you when millions are against you." - Unknown

This one is for you, Ang.

Growing up, we have that one friend who has always been there since the beginning. Someone who has slept over your house every weekend. A person who went to the movies with you, someone who you spend your time with. For me, this person is my best friend, Angela. From the fourth grade to now, I can honestly call you my best friend. Since then, our friendship has blossomed into one of the best ones I ever had.

If you were to know Angela or myself, you would know that we're practically polar opposites. I could sit there all day and do my makeup, while she would go shopping at Hot Topic. It's amazing that two very different people can come together and form a friendship. Our different views have never really been to be an issue. Personally, I think it defines our relationship, which is why it's so special to me.

Growing up, we were always there for one another. No matter what we were going through, we were right next to one another. She even calls my parents "mom and dad" and i do the same to hers. It's almost as if we have our own separate lives that intertwined into a blended family. In all honesty, the both of us would equally be offended if we didn't feel apart of one another's family.

One thing that I love about my friendship with Angela is that no matter how far away we are, we pick up right where we left off. Being that I attend school three and a half hours away, it is almost impossible to see her more than once a month. We can go weeks without seeing or speaking to one another, yet it feels like I never left her sight. We still crack the same jokes, go to the same restaurants and even re-watch Catfish just because we both love it so much.

I believe that all these things I've mentioned are what makes our friendship so special. Since we've known one another from the age of nine, we've witnessed each other grow into the people we are today. We have both experienced several relationships with people, and we even have different friend groups. Yet no matter what, we've still managed to stay connected to one another.

Although we don't always see eye to eye, we manage to always fall on the same page. No matter what I'm doing, she's one of the first people I contact to hang out with. Yes, maybe we don't always agree on the same T.V. show or what restaurant we want to go to, but what matters is we are always trying to be in each others lives. For as long as I can remember, Angela and I have been by each other's side since the day we met.

Not many people can say they have a friendship like this. In fact, I am very particular about who I let into my life. Many people have came and gone, yet Angela has always stayed. Ang, I don't say this too often, but know that I value and appreciate our friendship. Many people have hurt me and lost my trust, but you're someone I'm lucky enough to call my best friend.

Cheers to the many years ahead of us. May they be 10,000x better than the past 13 years.

P.S. My children and our dogs can have many play dates with one another.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
