Dear bestie,
I can’t even begin to put into words how thankful I am to have had you as my rock throughout freshman year. It is crazy to think I did not know you a year ago, yet it feels like I have known you my whole life. We are approaching summer and while I can’t wait to be home and doing anything but school, I can’t imagine not being a two-minute walk from you. So this is a thank you for making this year one of the best of my life and for always picking me up when times got tough.
I came to college hoping to make friends I would have for the rest of my life and I can honestly say I have found that. We all come into school thinking we are going to make a million new friends and it’s all going to be easy, but you quickly realize that’s not true and, more likely than not, you are happy that’s not true. In the grand scheme of things, we grow up and have a few close friends that are there for you no matter what, and you are that friend hands down. You are the friend that I know will never leave my side and is always there to laugh or cry with (because we do both too often).
The friendship we have is the kind where it becomes weird when we go two days without seeing each other. This fact makes summer approaching unbearable to think about. I can’t imagine not having someone to go to the gym with every day or say it’s a cheat day when we eat something unhealthy directly after. I can’t imagine what it will be like to go from getting lunch and usually dinner every day together to going weeks or even months without seeing each other… and FaceTime doesn’t count of course. But most importantly, I can’t imagine going through the summer and not being able to come over every day to update you on all the things that happened the day/night before or to just hangout and watch Netlfix.
Thank you for quickly becoming my person. You are the person I can go to with anything and you can do the same for me. You know about so much of my life that it’s like you were there for it all. You are the person I lean on when the week was tough and all I wanted was to go home to my family. You’re my best friend.
Thank you for always being down to eat pizza with me when we know we shouldn’t and online shop when we definitely know we shouldn’t. Thank you for making this gigantic school seem so much smaller. Thank you for being part of some of the best memories I have. Thank you for truly making an impact on my life and for being the greatest friend and person ever. Thank you for being you.
Sincerely,
Your grateful BFF
