When the season began I quickly became friends with a lot of the new girls, as I was a new girl as well. By the end of the season, I believed that I could call two of them my best cheer friends. I haven't had a chance to tell them how much I appreciate their friendship and support through my first season of college cheerleading, so I thought an article would be the way to go.

Lauren and Justice, you two are the reason I go to open gym. Being able to escape reality and hang out with my favorites makes it easier to show up. So far this summer we've attempted stunts and watched them fall without letting our flyer fall on her face. I think that alone is an accomplishment. This is going to be a season we'll never forget because we have friendships to lean on and a stunt group that will succeed.

Lauren, knowing that we were so close before coming to Siena made our friendship blossom so easily. I've enjoyed our dorm room ranting sessions and talks about boys. It feels like we've been friends for years rather than months. My mom loves you and that alone means everything cause she hates everyone. We've been stunting partners more often than not and I appreciate your willingness to adapt to my shortness. Your butt will thank you from all the squats you do to mimic my height. I promise I'm gonna wear wedges to the next open gym so I can be taller.

Justice, our friendship didn't really begin until basketball season but that meant that we had many fun memories with the pep band and Lauren. You've had a big comeback this year after everything you went through during football season and I am so happy you're back cheering and stunting with us. Having you as a captain this year is also amazing because I think we all can learn something from you this year. Be prepared for countless juice box parties and fun nights come basketball season. I can't wait to be your shadow and learn from you during basketball season.

Lauren and Justice, you're the best friends a girl could ask for.

Keep cheering and reach for the sky.

I love you two.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
