To My 25-Year-Old Self

I hope you've become the woman you've always dreamt of being.

It's been five years since I've written this. I hope you've changed, but not too much.

I hope you love yourself.

Hopefully, you've found yourself. I hope you've put yourself first for once. Maybe, by now, you've realized just how important it is to love yourself before you worry about loving anyone else.

I hope you've been able to ditch that 2005 Ford Taurus.

I really hope you laugh when you read this one from the driver seat of that 4Runner you've always dreamt about.

I hope you've done nothing but grow in your faith.

That's the most important thing to me right now. Continuously growing and learning. Please never change that.

I hope you're in love with your career.

You’ve spent all your life preparing for it. Remember all the hard work, people, and obstacles that got you where you are. Love the journey. Love the accomplishments. Love what you do; even if it isn't exactly where you thought you'd be.

I hope you don't worry about pleasing everyone.. Because you can't.

Enough said. You just can't please some people; and that's okay. All you can do is be the best you can be. Some people will hate your success. Some people will hate you because they're jealous. Some people will even hate you for being too nice. They’ll hate you for anything. They'll hate you for being you. It happens. Love them; even when they keep you down. Don't let the negativity ruin you. Trust me, it's not worth it.

I hope you're not too fearful to get out of your comfort zone.

Stop being so scared. Just do it. Be courageous. If there's one thing you really want to do right now, go do it. Don't miss out on big things because you're stuck in comfortable situations. You'll regret it.

I hope you've found amazing friends.

It's harder than I thought. I hope you've found some close friends you can rely on; and you haven't lost touch of the ones that have been there through it all.

I hope you've stopped letting that boy play with your emotions.

Maybe it worked out. Maybe it didn't. I just hope you're not still letting him keep you on the back burner. You're so much better than that. Don’t let some guy play with your emotions because that's all he’ll ever do. Know you're worth. If you don't, he won't care to.

I hope you've stopped spending too much money on socks.

For real, stop buying socks.

I hope you've continuously thanked God for this beautiful life.

Simple as that. I hope that you've given Him thanks each and every day. He's so miraculous.

I hope you've stopped worrying so much.

Seriously, worrying about it won't change anything. Things happen. If you can't change the situation, change your view of the situation.

I hope you're happy.

I hope you've become the woman you've always dreamt of being. I hope you're genuinely happy with yourself, with life, your career, your friends, your relationship (or lack there of), with church, and each and every detail of life. I hope you've let yourself be who God intended for you to be.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
