To Gut A Girl: A Poem

To gut a girl here's what you do:

Grab a pen, some paper

and write "I love you."

Hand her the paper and watch

as tears fill her eye;

then tell her you don't mean it,

and watch her slowly die.

To gut a girl here's what you say:

"I promise to love you

every single day."

Watch as she soars with joy,

all the way to the moon;

then suddenly leave her,

all too soon.

To gut a girl here's how you act:

Make her think that you love her,

that it's a fact.

Then one day make sure

you tell her you lied;

"I don't love you at all,

but at least you tried."

To gut a girl here's how you think:

"Maybe we can get somewhere

if I give her a drink."

Then the next morning,

as she wakes up confused,

tell her that you got what you wanted,

let her realize she was misused.

To gut a girl isn't very hard,

you just have to know

how to play the right card.

But make sure when you gut her

that you also take out the heart,

because by the end

she'll need a new start.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
