Don't break for the broken...

To the girl that loves a broken man:

You can't heal him with your touch

Your love

Or your spirit

No matter how many times you say 'I love you'

It'll always be the same

The same chaos

The same tragedy

The same sadness

The shattered pieces of his heart won't heal themselves because you loved him most,

More,

Or just enough

His crooked mind won't straighten because you said the right things

At the right time

In the right places

And he won't fall to his knees and be the man you need because you asked

You wanted

You begged

He'll never say the words you hope for,

Yearn for

Or stayed for

No matter how many times you show him what love is

He'll never get it

He'll never realize

He'll never change

He will remain infinitely broken,

Stagnant in a disarray

Beautifully, captivatingly in a constant state of devastation

To the now woman who loves a broken man:

Don't let Love blind you to the truth

Don't let fear tell you you're not enough

And don't you dare let a broken man break you

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."
