I’m wanting to say this is a bit of a touchy subject for me, mostly because how the act of forgiveness is shoved down my throat.
Whenever someone has done you wrong, the immediate reception is to forgive. Let it go, and start the process of healing and moving on. And yes, I can agree to some degree that the part of the healing process is to forgive.
But, at the same time, everyone does not deserve forgiveness. These are just my opinions, and therefore should not be held to any life standard or such.
But I digress. If you decide not to forgive someone, are you really holding on to anger and resentment? According to a dictionary, the answer would be yes, but can a dictionary really define how a person feels?
Personally, I could refuse to give a person forgiveness and in my mind and world, that person will cease to exist. I will not give them or the situation any energy.
Are you an angry, bitter person because you refuse to forgive someone for crossing you?
