Anyone who knows me can tell you that I love to read. I have been reading nonstop since I first learned back in kindergarten.

As I gear up for my vacation, I cannot wait to have even more time to read over the next few weeks! I've read Lisa Scottoline, J.K. Rowling, Elin Hilderbrand, Kristin Hannah, and so many more authors. However, one author in particular always stands out.

Here's to you, Nicholas Sparks.

Now, I know we will probably never meet. But a girl can dream, am I right? To this day, I have read almost every single book you have ever written. I emphasize "almost" only because your newest book doesn't come out until the fall, but I can assure you that once it comes out, I will own it.

My love for your writing style all started because I saw in a commercial for "The Last Song", the words "Nicholas Sparks best seller." Now, usually when I see a movie, if it is a book, I make it a point to read the book first and then see the movie because, let's be honest, the book is always better than the movie.

"The Last Song" was the first book of yours I've ever read. Then, as was the same with "The Last Song", I found out about "Dear John". Needless to say, I had to read that before seeing the movie, too. In the years since, I have read every book you have ever written, from "A Bend In The Road", my personal favorite, to "The Notebook" and "Nights In Rodanthe".

I get so giddy when I see you come out with a new book. When you come out with new books, I get so excited that I can barely wait until I get home to start reading them. When you came out with "Two by Two" in 2016, I read it in a total of two days. Insane, I know. But your books draw me in right from the start, and I can never stop myself from reading them.

They let me escape to a different reality, and I love that. When I read your books, I can picture the characters, what they look like, what they sound like, and that makes it so much better!

Here's to you, Nicholas Sparks, for keeping one longtime reader as happy as ever with your writing! Thank you for giving me something to look forward to every few years!

Sincerely,

Your biggest fan.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
