10 Reasons To Fall In Love with Fall

Because fall is the best season of them all

10 Reasons To Fall In Love with Fall

This year, the first official day of fall is September 22. Though each season has its perks, fall outdoes them all. Sorry spring, summer, and winter but it's true.

Cooler weather

Because I think the weather is the most anticipated aspect of the fall season. It’s not too hot and it's not too humid anymore. The winter is way too cold but during the fall, the temperature drops just a little and not quite too much. It is crisp and cool but it’s still sunny. For college students, we don’t have to worry about walking around campus and dripping sweat anymore. The warm days followed by chilly nights are among us and it’s great. It’s finally chilly enough for a cute, baggy, flannel, and leggings.

Fall fashion

Because there are some things you just can’t pull off any other season. It's the time of year that people are wearing flannels, leggings, boots, scarfs, beanies and vests. It’s the only season you can still wear pretty fall colors (like grayish blue, maroon, gold, burnt orange and dark red) be comfy, and cute all at the same time.

Bonfires

Because who doesn’t love snuggling up with a group of friends around a bonfire pit, sharing all types of stories and making yummy smores? Plus, the smell of a bonfire and watching the fire alight with oranges and reds and even some deep blues is pretty relaxing too.

Haunted houses

Because I honestly love grabbing a group of people, walking through a "haunted" place and getting the crap scared out of me. It's such an adrenaline rush. The gore, the scary guys in masks, the screams — I love it all.

Pumpkin patches and corn mazes

Because searching through the patch and finding the perfect pumpkin to carve is exciting. Plus actually carving the pumpkin is so much fun. And then you have cute little fall decorations for your porch! Corn mazes are just as fun and only acceptable during the fall season.

Seasonal treats

Because there are flavors that are only accepted during the fall season: salted caramel, pumpkin spice, (duh) apple cider and more. Then something about fall makes everything apple flavored taste 20x better. There’s yummy candy corn and of course, all of the seasonal candy for Halloween.

Halloween

Because it's the absolute best day of the fall season. love any reason to dress up. Halloween is the one day of the year you can dress up and be whoever you want to be and not be judged for it.

Scenery

Because what fall looks like is almost hard to describe. It's the changing colors of leaves falling from the trees that are so vivid it's almost unbelievable. The leaves cover the ground in a beautiful, crunchy, carpet. There's burnt orange, red and yellow shining through all of the leaves and the trees as the sun is setting.

Fall smells

Because all of the candles that smell like sliced oranges, pumpkin pie, caramel apples, cranberries, cinnamon apples and more, are out and I can fill my apartment with them. I even love the smells of burning leaves and wood smoke.

Halloween movies

Because I can waste away my Saturday night drinking apple cider and having a movie marathon that consists of "Halloweentown," "A Nightmare Before Christmas," "Hocus Pocus," "It's The Great Pumpkin," "Charlie Brown" (my mom's favorite movie) and "Casper" and be completely OK with it.

I know there are even more reasons to fall in love with fall that I didn't list. You just have to admit that fall is a pretty awesome season. So get ready to enjoy it!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
