My biggest issue when it rains is that I never know what to do. I always feel trapped inside and get a little cabin fever.

So, in order to stay away from the ~dreaded~ cabin fever, here are a few ideas for how you can enjoy your day stuck inside.

Enjoy the cold air

It has been a sweltering 80 degrees outside since Move-In week and, I don't know about you, but I'm over it.

I am ready for sweater weather and pumpkin patch photo shoots in ripped jeans and boots so a little rain is A.O.K. with me.

Get in the kitchen

If you are like the Wicked Witch Of The West and can't touch the rain or else you will melt, this is the perfect time to stay in. You don't want to venture out to grab some dinner so it is the perfect time to try out that new recipe that you just found on Pinterest!

Clean

This might not be the most enjoyable activity but if a hurricane is barring down and you are stuck inside for a week, you might as well clean up a bit.

Plus, it gives you something to do.

Catch up on some homework

If you have been so busy with all your outdoor activities and they all became postponed due to the rain this is the perfect time to catch up on some work!

Whether it be figuring out where you're going to live next year or finding a job or simply catching up on lab reports, this is the perfect time to do just that!

Binge watch your favorite shows

Once you have finished all of the work that you have been slacking off on, you can go crazy and do a 28 hour Office marathon.

Game Night!

Bored of just sitting there and doing nothing? Invite some friends over and have a game night! This is literally one of the biggest highlights to living in a dorm!

Laundry

If you have been putting off your laundry and are now down to your last pair of socks then this is the time to do it.

Throw your stuff in the wash, then sit back and watch an episode or two and, bam, you're done.

Order Out

If you don't have any food at home and still don't want to go out in the rain to buy some, today is the day you can order out!

If you've been craving that Chinese food for weeks but didn't have the money, splurge a little since you are stuck inside and treat yourself.

Call your mom

If you have nothing to do, your mom would always enjoy to hear your voice.

Nap

Napping will always be the best thing to do on a rainy day.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
