I yearn for blissful and inviting sun
To shine upon my cheeks, gentle and warm.
And cloudless Summer days are full of fun,
The soothing rays have no intent of harm.
My cheeks and ears are kissed a tender pink.
I lay down on the grass in peaceful sleep
My dreams are swimming in my mind so deep.
Those who pass must surely seem to think
“What peaceful sleep underneath the sun’s rays.”
As gentle sun guards over sleeping child
Not unlike a Mother, tender and mild.
Remembering their own past youthful days,
The elders bask in Her inviting glow.
Their worries taking flight like flocks of crow.
