To Butchy, My Wonderful Aunt
Caroline Kothari

To My Aunt,

Thank you for always being there for me when I'm down or when I'm up. You always cheer me up and/or just listen to me when I am down. Thank you for not only being my aunt but, one of my best friends. I can talk to you about anything and I always know I can count on you and I hope you know you can always count on me.

Thank you for being like a second mother to me. I always feel right at home with you and you always take care of me just as my own mother would. Thank you for providing laughter in my life. You have a contagious laugh that always brightens my day. Thank you for always believing in me, you have helped me to believe in myself.

Thank you for just being you. You are a ray of sunshine and a true joy to be around. I love spending time with you and I love being able to FaceTime with you because even when we are not physically with each other, we are always with each other.

Thank you for being there for me all the time but, especially through this hard year. You have helped me get through this year. I do not think I could have gotten through this year without you. I love laughing with you, we always laugh so hard together.

I love our love of movies! We both like romantic movies and funny movies. Thank you for sharing my love of movies. I love that we got to experience firewalking together in November of 2015. It brought us closer together and helped us to understand each other and our struggles better. I will always cherish that day in my heart! It made it extremely special to experience it with you.

I loved spending time with you in India last summer. It was such a blast! I love dancing with you and glad we got to dance together until the night was over. Thank you for dancing with me and not making fun of me because of how bad I am as a dancer!

Thank you for everything! You care about me so much and I am so lucky to have you in my life. You are truly an amazing person. You inspire me! You are an incredibly hard worker, your work ethic has helped shape me to have a strong work ethic as well. Thank you for showing me the meaning of hard work!

Thank you for your love! You love me so hard and I am blessed to have you because you love me with all of your heart. When I get down, I remember how much you love me and then, I start to get happier. There are so many people who don't have people who love them and care about them. I think of myself as extremely blessed to have so many people including you who loves me and cares about me!

I love you Butchy with all of my heart. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have you as an aunt and I wouldn't have it any other way. You are so special to me! Never forget how wonderful you are. Thank you for being an amazing aunt, a best friend, and a second mother!

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
