Dear big brother,

Thank you for being by my side for well... My whole life. We were constantly fighting growing up, and now? We’re closer than ever. You’ve become someone I couldn’t imagine my life without. Whether its late night coffee runs, early morning “Wanna do me a favor?” situations. The phone calls that start with “What are you getting dad for Christmas?” and the “What the hell do you want for your birthday?” talks, I couldn’t imagine a day without those.

Now, I know I was a brat growing up. I’m really sorry for breaking your arm wrestling when we were little and constantly wanting to hang out with you and your friends but know I did it out of love.

Thank you for being someone I can talk to about anything and everything. Someone who has never judged me harshly but rather has always offered open ears and honest advice. Thank you for the many pizza and movie nights, the harry potter marathons and amusing my random questions.

I absolutely cannot wait to meet the woman (or man) who has the privilege of being in love with you. Who has the chance to have someone as sweet and caring as you in their lives? Just know, they’ll have to hear from me and get my approval before they even get close to a family christmas.

You’re going to do big things in this world, and I’m so proud to say that I’m your sister and get to watch you grow as a human
