To Be Dust Soon Enough

As an Oath to myself.

To Be Dust Soon Enough
Drodd

At the end of the day my friend, remember the importance of appreciating yourself.

How I would dread to live a life without this understanding.

A life without having my mind as the caretaker for my body would be the greatest form of spiritual self-destruction.

Without Self Love, you will not breed wisdom from your mistakes.

As an Oath to myself:

It was you that stood with me through every tear, like raindrops falling from the skies.

It was you who understood me when no one else did.

It was you that believed in me to take that first step.

It was you who told me I am not tolerating my attitude anymore!

Although our body’s have limitations physically, no mind needs to be shortened of potential.

With spiritual limitation, we finally begin to love ourselves. As if starting a new journey, enriched with even more fulfilling adventures.

I bring advice from a long time friend of mine, Viktor Frankl.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing; the last of the human freedoms- to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s way.”

You cannot become overwhelmed unless you allow yourself to be consumed by the expectations you currently hold to yourself.

You cannot be harmed unless you submit yourself to a service of pain.

Most importantly, you cannot be enlightened unless you allow yourself to choose such a path.

I can surely relate...I hope you can too.

So to soothe such external expectations, with a pen in hand, I find myself.

Again..and Again...and Again..and Again..and Again…because this battle will never end.

I wish you can do the same, with a tool of intervention.

Able find yourself in any given situation.

Only then will your emotions walk the earth with you as a gentle giant.

Yet if you cannot find yourself alone

Look to the souls in the past

The stars in the sky

And the depths of the ocean

To remember...

you will be dust soon enough.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
