Now I don't mean to ridicule men as an entire gender. I do, however, want to bring attention to the overwhelming amount of disrespect too many men are seemingly getting away with.
1. Lying is never okay!!
This doesn't just apply to relationships or talking, this applies to anything and everything! Once you lie once, it's likely you're going to have to keep building on that lie and it just snowballs. If nothing else, this is just going to make your life harder. So for the benefit of everyone involved, just tell the truth!!
2. Being "Whipped" Should Not Be Something To Be Ashamed Of
Too many times I have heard people mock a guy for treating his girl with respect. It could be that he bought her flowers out of nowhere, or didn't go to guys night to spend time with her because she's not feeling well. These aren't things that should be looked down on or made fun of! These are things that we should all appreciate and respect!
Now, I don't think or recommend a relationship where one person is "whipped" in the sense that they give up their own life and live to cater, serve and love the person they're with. I do think that there is a healthy medium and we should all try to find it! While it is healthy and important to be our own people in a relationship, it's also very important to make sure we're putting time and effort into our relationship as well.
3. Rejection is okay
GiphyI think something we all need to take into consideration, is that sometimes people's actions or responses have nothing to do with us personally! If someone doesn't answer your text, it probably isn't because they're blatantly ignoring you.
Life is insane and sometimes we need to take some time for ourselves.
That being said, if someone tells you that they don't want to go out with you, or ignores you long term, it's important to take into account that often this has nothing to do with you! The person could be emotionally unavailable, too busy for a new relationship or going through personal issues!
4. Please be a Kind Human
Life is hard enough without people being meanies. Additionally, you never really know what a person may be going through or even feeling in any given moment, so please be respectful of other people's feelings and well-being. Remember, all actions and words have consequences!
