To The Friends Who Make Your Best Days Better And Your Worst Seem Not So Bad

I'd like to say, thank you.

Friendship is such a beautiful thing. Friends have the ability to make your best days better and your worst seem not so bad. Now, before I go on and on about how thankful I am for my best friends, here's a few honorable mentions to the friends I may not have for a lifetime, but the ones that I will remember for a lifetime.

To the friends of my past, I want you to know that just because we aren't as involved in each other's lives as we thought we would be once upon a time, doesn't mean I've forgotten about you. You helped me grow more than you'll ever know and I wish you nothing but the best. I think of you often, and when I look back on our memories I can't help but smile.

To the friends of my present, thanks for always being down for anything. Whether it's brunch, a night out, or pulling an "all-nighter" in the library to help me cram for an exam I should have started preparing for weeks ago, you're my go-to and the real MVP. To the friend's of my future, whether we're co-workers, girl scout troop leaders or PTA moms, I can't wait to meet you and gossip about the neighborhood drama over our weekly wine nights.

Now, when it comes to my bestie for the restie, I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't get just one, but a handful of amazing people, that I call my best friends. They've all come into my life at different times, and I know with complete certainty these select few will remain in my life until the day I die.

You know who you are, but I don't know if you know how much you mean to me. So, here it goes, thanks for everything

Thank you for accepting me and loving me for exactly who I am.

Saying "I can be a lot", is an understatement, but you've chosen to stick around, and for that, I am eternally grateful. You've seen me at my worst and you somehow still think I'm the best.

Thank you for always being there for me.

You've been by my side through not only the good times but also the bad.

You have celebrated the successes and mourned the failures with me, as if they were your own.

You always have my back even when I'm wrong, while still being someone I can count on to be brutally honest when I need it.

You might not always be there in person, but you're always there in spirit and only one call away.

Thank you for being my biggest supporter.

You truly are my own personal cheerleader in this big crazy world.

You're always encouraging me to do my best and reminding me that you will be there every step of the way, to catch me if I fall.

Your friendship has given me confidence and your motivation has given me the strength to push myself further than I thought possible.

Thank you for being you.

You are the shining light in my life leading me towards a brighter future.

You've shown me what hard work is and you've taught me perseverance. I'm so grateful our paths intertwined when they did because you are one of the best people I know and I can't imagine my life without you in it.

You bring such happiness into the lives of everyone you meet and I am honored to be your best friend.

Being a best friend means being there for all of life's trials and tribulations. It means having someone else's best interest at heart and doing what is best for them even when it's not easy. Having a best friend is one of the best gifts life has to offer. Your best friend is not only your partner in crime for all of life's endeavors but also your family, someone who loves you unconditionally.

To all of my best friends, you are each so unique and beautiful, there is no competition or comparison.

I love you all so much and I am a better person because of each and every one of you. I don't deserve any of you, but I'm lucky I have all of you.

Thank you.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
