The Consumer Electronics Show, better known as CES, is a yearly mecca for tech fans, where companies new and old show off their latest tech. Taking place every January, CES allows big companies to show off their latest products that they will be releasing to the public later in the year, or even some R&D tech that they are still working on. Of course, with such a big conference, there are so many new things that you can't keep track of all of them. So here is a TL;DR for CES 2017.
LG's OLED W7
Described as the "lightest, thinnest, and most beautiful TV on the planet" and they aren't being brash. The W7 is 2.57mm thick and comes in 65 in and 77 in.
NVIDIA's Shield TV
NVIDIA released their own streaming box, competing with the Chromecast and Apple TV. The Shield comes with 4K streaming for Netflix, Youtube, Google Play Movies, Amazon Video and even game streaming (if your PC is powerful enough). The Shield is available to buy now and is priced at $189 for the 16GB model and $279 for the 50 GB model.
Honor 6X: the new iPhone "killer"?
Huawei showed off its new phone, the Honor 6X, which is set to sell for $250, and has average specs with one exception – a dual-camera configuration. The only other phone that has a configuration similar to that is the iPhone 7 Plus, which goes for $649 on retail. A budget phone that makes sure that your Insta photos look good?!? Who wouldn't get it?
Dell's New XPS 13
After its initial release in 2016, Dell decided to press the refresh button to release its new Kaby Lake processor based 2-in-1 XPS 13. This may the best tech showed off in CES and is setting a new standard on what laptops should be like. Make sure you keep this on your radar when you think you need a new laptop that's ultraportable and pleasing to look at.
2 TB Storage – Kingston, why?
Unlike the other sleek and elegant items on this list, Kingston announced a USB stick. A 2TB USB stick, for that matter. No more having to carry multiple USBs around. The DataTraveler Ultimate GT is a YUGE USB stick and can carry 70 hours of 4K resolution or 19,000,000 term papers. No need to delete anything anymore.
This TL;DR didn't cover everything about CES 2017. Be sure to check out the other gadgets and electronics in CES 2017. Also be on the lookout for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March, for those new smartphones that we'll be getting.
