Buying Christmas presents can be a hard thing for some people. Christmas is supposed to a peaceful holiday spent with friends, family, food, and Christmas jams, but instead it can be a bit stressful because you have to buy presents for all the people you care about. I usually start thinking about Christmas before Thanksgiving and figure out what to get everyone after Thanksgiving. If you are one of those people who had no idea what to get anybody in your life, then have no fear, I will offer up some ideas! Here we go-
- Music gifts-
This is a pretty easy category of presents, all you have to know is your family member's/friend's favorite band. With that fact you can buy a vinyl record from their favorite band, concert tickets, a shirt or buttons with their favorite band on it. There’s lots of options, and every time I get a new music thing to add to my endless collection, I get stoked.
2. Gifts for Mom-
We have a running joke in my family that every year we tell my mother we’re going to get her a coffee maker or a vacuum cleaner. We never end up doing that but we always joke about it. The point is don’t buy anything that involves a chore, like a vacuum. Get your mom a set of towels for the kitchen or something totally random like a garden gnome. Last year I got my mom a tomato soup kit that came with a bowl and she still uses it!
3. Gifts for Dad-
My dad is weird when it comes to presents. He always wants something that no one has ever heard of. Last year it was a book about engineering that was like, 1,000 pages long. For your dad, you could get a pair of funny socks, a nice shirt, something for his car or a pair of slippers. If your dad likes coffee, you could get him a custom coffee mug with your face on it. You could wear a shirt with your face on it and then take a picture of you wearing it on the coffee mug. If what I just said is confusing, check out the picture below!
4. Gifts for your siblings-
My younger siblings (and siblings in general) usually have different interests from you. My little bros like video games and board games. Sometimes I don’t understand why, but I do try to understand as best as I can. Get them something based off their interests such as a board game, a video game that they want, or a gift card to a store they like. This is probably the easiest thing to figure out because your siblings might not even expect something from you, so whatever you get them they will be happy.
5. Random small gifts for someone has everything-
Every year I get my friend band aids. I’ve been doing this for like 7 years. It’s become a tradition but it started out as a joke. If you know someone who has everything you can think of then something completely random can be good. By random I mean things like Chia pets or a Snuggie or weird band aids. It doesn’t have to make sense but you’ll most likely get a laugh from whoever you give the gift to-and that’s pretty cool.
Good Luck with your gift giving endeavors! I know I just wrote an article about gift-giving, but remember: gifts are not the most important part of Christmas.
