It's that time of the year again that while I'm strolling through my social media feeds I'm noticing more and more relationships flourishing with the holiday season upon us. Pictures of couples kissing under the mistletoe and wrapped around each other as white powdery snow falls around them are everything I see. It seems as though the cold weather, falling leaves and warm snuggly sweaters are causing more and more single people to become lonely and in need of a good holiday cuddle buddy.
I however don't see the need to force myself into a relationship just because it's a little chilly outside. My holidays are stressful enough as it is without the complications of looking for a potential male to fulfill my cuddling needs. There is studying to be done for finals, shopping to be completed before December 25th and self-preparation to be had before all my family decides to question me about when I'm going to give birth to my future three children.
The need to find a cute man to kiss me under the fireworks on New Year's Eve is the last thing on my to-do list this year.
To be completely honest, I give props to any girl or guy who gets in a relationship before the holidays. I would never be able to do that due to my deep fear that my significant other would end the relationship right on Christmas Eve or something.
I mean I totally understand the desperate need to find someone to nestle by the fire with, but my solid advice to all of you is...DON'T DO IT!
Nonetheless, I don't see an end to this trend happening anytime soon, so my only hope is that other single people like me continue to be un-phased by the changing weather and seasons and continue on with their lonely single lives during the holidays.
