A moment of pride for me is when I can make it through the day without taking a nap because literally the moment I wake up I am tired. It takes me a solid 30 minutes to lay in bed before getting up because of the idea of being out of bed breaks my heart. If you feel the same way, then you understand the fifteen struggles of being tired all the time.
1. 10 alarms later, you awaken
One of the worst sounds you can hear is your alarm, but being tired you know you need to have several alarms to get your sleepy self out of bed.
2. You count the hours till you are in bed again
Whether it is while laying in bed or sitting at work, you plan on sneaking in a little nap or just dream about the next time you can lay down.
3. Sometimes you're just not a person
There are morning people and night owls, but who are you when you hate mornings and by the time its dark out you're already in your pajamas? Somedays you feel like a person, but somedays you feel like a zombie.
4. Being judged by the amount of time you sleep
You sometimes feel personally victimized when people make comments about your sleeping habits like "how can you nap so much" and "I wish I could sleep as much as you."
5. Are there rollover minutes for refused naps as a child?
As a child did you fight your parents about taking naps? Now, you wish you could go back to kindergarten and have nap time.
6. How do other people have so much energy?
You stare with tired eyes as people take on the day with excitement and you wonder if they've taken a nap today to be so successful?
7. The bags under my eyes are designer
You have grown used to the purple under your eyes and have accepted that no product will fix your sleepiness. You know that you are #flawless and so are your bags.
8. Sitting is not your friend
Whether it is sitting in a lecture, a meeting, or watching a movie. Being sedentary is difficult for your sleepy eyes not to close.
9. Speaking of friends, you know who to nap around
You have learned the hard way that some people in your life will prank or take pictures of you while you are asleep. It is not just how your friends act when behind your back, it is mainly how your friends are while you sleep.
10. Your "power nap" turns to a "12-hour nap"
You have just enough time to squeeze in a small nap, but you being your sleepy-self end up sleeping through your alarms and panicking about how old you are now.
11. You can sleep just about nnywhere
You can sleep on a train, in a plane, or in a box with a fox, your sleep time has no judgment. Your neck will just hurt later.
12. Naps are perfect for procrastination
Long story short: when in doubt, take a nap. You have a major project due in a week, take a nap. You're having problems in life, take a nap. This doesn't show any problem, am I right?
13. Your responses may take 3 to 5 business days
Your friends and family or anyone in contact with you should know that your text responses will take a while. You have important things to do, like sleep.
14. Anything after 9 is past your bedtime
You know yourself and an event past your bedtime has a high risk of you falling asleep in public.
15. If you're crabby, people assume you need a nap
Do you have an attitude? Most likely people will wonder if you have napped. Will a nap help? Yes.
If you are not tired all the time, please share what sorcery you use. If you are a sleepy person and made through this list, I am proud of you because I need a nap now. Goodnight.
