The biggest issue with making New Year's resolutions aren't creating them or planning them out. The issue is keeping them. So here are my tips on how to keep them all year long.
I believe the biggest issue with these resolutions is that they are only verbal promises made. We hope that it sticks with us and that everything will go just fine... NOT. Put a picture of the vacation you want to go on, print out your workout goals and stick it to the bathroom mirror. As humans we forget things and CONSTANTLY are in need of reminders of the goals ahead of us.
2. Make a Schedule
Creating a visual is not enough. You need to set yourself to a schedule in order to create an eventual habit. Whether you need to set alarms or get a calendar and write down when you'll be going to the gym or shopping for healthier food. Making and setting aside time to do so is crucial to achieving these goals.
3. Make Small Goals
I think one of the biggest issues is that we create big goals for the new year without taking into account the small goals that must be achieved to reach the larger ones. I believe you should make small, attainable goals to help you see yourself progressing towards the greater outcome.
4. Reward Yourself
It isn't all about reaching the goals. It's also about celebrating every task you accomplish. Reward yourself slowly, and you'll appreciate the efforts that you are putting into gaining the things you want for the new year.
With these tips in mind, go forth and make this year the best it can be.
