1. Plan ahead
What I like to do is to plan out my day the night before. I plan out what I need to study based on importance, and time. If there’s something you can get done in half an hour versus two hours, check off the less time consuming one first!
2. Sleep
As odd as it sounds, sleep is necessary. If you’re like me and don’t think you need sleep, or find it hard to “need it” then schedule it in. Make sure you get eight hours of sleep to prepare you for the next day of studying. There’s nothing worse than trying to complete everything while you’re half asleep.
3. Make a study group
Make a study group for each class. This will help with learning the material. In a study group you can teach your peers, and by doing so you actually learn and remember it better.
4. Take a break
If you’re writing a paper, it is best to go away from it for a while, and come back to it. By doing so you can come up with more ideas and more topics to write about for your paper. The same applies to studying for an exam. By taking an hour (or two) away form studying, you help your brain process everything that you are trying to read.
5. Relax
When you’re drowning in exams, papers, speeches, and group projects, relaxing seems like the last thing on your mind. Try to find out what makes you relax. Breathe in and out and know that whatever happens, you will do just fine!
With that, good luck on your exams everyone! As as tell my friends, “you got it, you’re a smart cookie!”
