We all need a little help around this time whether we admit it or not.

1. Plan ahead

I know this is something you hear ~literally~ from everyone and their brother. But seriously. I thought this wasn't as important as everyone says it is until I really did it myself. If you don't use a planner (first of all, how are you surviving college) and second of all, GET ONE. Write down what exam you have when and make a plan. As tedious and stress-inducing this sounds, it will help you. There is no worse feeling than realizing the night before exam week starts that you have 3 exams within 24 hours. Trust me (based on personal experience).

2. Set aside time for fun and relaxation

Even though amidst finals week, the words 'fun' and 'chill time' seem like they have no meaning or relevance in your life, they are IMPORTANT, PEOPLE!!! Your brain needs just as much rest as your body does. Set aside time to work out, watch a movie, take a nap or just really do nothing. It will make a difference and you deserve it for all the hard work you're doing.

3. Go grocery shopping

This is a personal tip that I focus on because there is nothing worse than being in the middle of studying, getting frustrated and taking a food break….to find out you HAVE NO FOOD!! There is nothing that helps me sit down and study more than a good snack. Although I am a strict advocate for fruit snacks and Pringles, I also suggest getting some sort of food that actually fuels your brain and your body as well.

4. Remind yourself that is going to BE OKAY!!

Something that I really had to work on is remembering to remind myself that one exam is not going to make or break you. Yes, it is important to try your best and show what you've learned. However, not doing as well as you hoped on one or two exams are not going to ruin you. School is hard. And as a college student, you have so much going on that you deserve to cut yourself some slack. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Seriously.

5. Think of life after exams

The last thing I can suggest is to think of how great life will be once these dreaded exams are over. You'll get to go home, be with friends and family and celebrate the holidays. Also, don't forget to look forward to the home-cooked meals and sleeping in your own bed. Really, nothing can beat it. And the closer we are done with exams, the closer we are to life after exams.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
